Spring Break Shouldn’t Mean Hitting Pause on Growth
Spring Break Camp at Hot Ground Gym Dripping Springs (March 16–20)
Spring Break can go one of two ways. Kids either stay active, sharp, and building momentum…
Or sleep schedules slide, screens take over, and by Friday everyone feels a little off.
At Hot Ground Gym® Dripping Springs, we believe Spring Break should move kids forward — not backward. And this year, we’re doing it in a big way.
Ziplines. All. Week.
Yes — the indoor ziplines are up the entire camp. If you’ve ever seen a child step up to the zipline for the first time, you know the look. A little hesitation. A quick glance at us. Maybe even, “I don’t know…”
And then they grab on. Halfway across, something shifts. By the time they land, they’re smiling.
That confidence carries into everything else they do that day.
There’s nothing quite like watching kids realize they’re stronger than they thought. And when those ziplines stay up all week? They don’t just try once. They improve. They get braver. They go further.
It’s one of the biggest reasons kids talk about camp long after it’s over.
Structure Makes the Week Work
A full week off school sounds relaxing — but kids thrive on rhythm. Without structure, it’s easy for things to unravel: Late nights. Hard mornings. Too much screen time. Restless energy with nowhere to go.
Spring Break Camp keeps that rhythm intact.
We run a consistent daily schedule where the morning builds into the afternoon. It’s not random blocks or repeating the same obstacle course over and over.
It’s intentional.
Skill work.
Physically challenging missions.
Team competitions.
Problem-solving challenges.
Each part feeds the next.
By the end of the day, kids are tired — the good kind of tired. The kind that makes dinner easy and bedtime smooth.
Parents tell us that every year.
Led by Owners. Backed by Experience.
This isn’t a camp handed off to high school counselors for the week. Coach Justin — one of the owners — runs Spring Break Camp alongside his family and our other owners, many of whom are Veterans. Everyone makes a point to be involved. That matters.
The atmosphere is positive, energetic, and encouraging — but it’s also disciplined and structured. Kids are coached. Guided. Pushed in healthy ways.
And it’s completely screen-free.
It feels different because it is different.
Leadership Gets Real
Spring Break Camp isn’t just physical. Every day includes team-based missions tied to a theme. Kids rotate roles. Some lead. Some support. Some surprise themselves. We’ve watched kids walk in unsure of their voice. By midweek, they’re calling strategy and helping their team move forward. They didn’t think they could take charge. Then they do. Everyone is brave. They just don’t always know it yet.
Spring Break gives them space to find out.
A Bridge for Families
Not every parent gets the week off. Many families in Dripping Springs are working hybrid or full schedules during Spring Break. Camp provides more than coverage — it provides peace of mind.
Even for parents who are home, having a structured, positive environment gives space to reset, catch up, and enjoy the break without chaos.
Because a week without structure doesn’t usually end well.
A week at HGG ends with kids smiling, confident, and proud of what they accomplished.
